Bare Knuckle Fighting Pioneer Dada 5000 Makes Return to the Trigon

Dhafir “Dada 5000” Harris will face off in a special attraction match on November 19 at BYB 13 Tampa Brawl for it All at the Florida State Fairgrounds.

Miami, FL – BYB Extreme announced today that company co-founder and bare knuckle fighting pioneer Dhafir “Dada 5000” Harris will make a return to the ring in the patented mighty Trigon on November 19, 2022 at BYB 13 Tampa Brawl for it All at the Florida State Fairgrounds.

Harris has done and seen it all in the fight world. His organized backyard events at the world-famous Greenhouse in West Perrine attracted notoriety throughout South Florida before going viral online and making him a household name. That success, along with his business savvy and creative vision, lead to, among other things, his co-founding BYB Extreme Fighting Series, being the subject of the blockbuster Netflix documentary Dawg Fight, and headlining Bellator 149 in what would be the promotion’s most watched event.

The November 19 heavyweight bare knuckle matchup against Matt Strickland, marks Harris’ first in-ring action since 2016.

On his return:

“I have a lot left inside of me and can be a breath of fresh air to what has become a very stale fight game. I’m one of the last of that original breed of modern mixed martial artists.  I’m recognizable and people identify with what they are familiar with. I want to do this for the fans as much as for myself.”

On being in the best shape of his life:

“I work out 2-3 hours a day in the gym, can bench press 225 pounds 30 times with ease, and I can go out and run a 4.4/4.5 40-yard dash. More importantly, my body hasn’t taken the bumps alot of fighters my size and age have. I have low miles and with little damage.”

On his debut in the Trigon:

“I am a smart fighter.  I make a game plan and then I go out and execute it.  The Trigon plays right into my style.  I can cut the ring off and use it to my benefit.  The fight is easy.  We start close and when I come out with my power, there’s nowhere to go.”

BYB 13’s lineup features a trio of title matches. BYB’s Desmond Green will take on BKB’s Scott McHugh for both the BYB Middleweight title and the Police Gazette World Diamond Belt.  BYB Champion Paty Juarez and Tampa’s Monica Medina will face off in a rematch for the BYB Women’s Lightweight Title and Police Gazette women’s 135 Diamond Belt. Tony Lopez, undefeated in the Trigon, makes his first heavyweight title defense as he takes on challenger DJ Linderman.

BYB Extreme Bare Knuckle Fighting Series Announces Elevation of Combat Sports Veteran Gregory Bloom to CEO Position

BYB Extreme Bare Knuckle Fighting Series Announces Elevation of Combat Sports Veteran Gregory Bloom to CEO Position

Miami, FL – BYB Extreme Bare Knuckle Fighting Series founder and President Mike Vazquez announced today that Gregory Bloom has been appointed CEO of the groundbreaking bare knuckle boxing organization.  Bloom will take over day-to-day operations and duties from Vazquez, and focus on major growth and partnerships already slated for BYB in 2023.  The move does not diminish Vazquez’s role in the organization, but rather will enable him to focus on big picture issues and opportunities moving forward.

Bloom is a partner at the sports and entertainment law firm of ChaseLawyers and has almost twenty years experience in the world of combat sports. During that time period, he has represented multiple Olympic medalists, top-ranked fighters and world-champions in both boxing and MMA, and has helped them negotiate lucrative agreements with entities such as UFC, Bellator, Strikeforce, Top Rank, Matchroom, PBC and Probellum. He most recently worked for nine years as general counsel for world- renowned MMA organization Combate Global, and played a critical role in their securing of major media deals with internationally recognized television and streaming platforms such as ESPN, Univision, Telemundo, Televisa, NBC Sports and Eurosport.  Additionally, Bloom has also worked as a licensed promoter for the past six years, and he has successfully promoted over seventy live events throughout the world.

Says Vazquez, “I have known Greg for several years and he was an integral part of BYB’s successful 2022 calendar year, including advising the company on its market expansion, global partnerships, and broadcast opportunities.  As we approach 2023, those successes have greatly accelerated, and we need someone with Greg’s character, experience and expertise to help us navigate.”

Says Bloom, “My immediate goal is to make BYB the number one sports property in the bare knuckle space.  What Mike, Dada [co-founder Dhafir “Dada 5000” Harris] and the rest of the team have built to date, through multiple shows and months of hard work and dedication is an amazing testament to their ambition and vision, and they’ve done so while striving to put their fans and fighters first.  I’m here to build on that foundation, and to turn BYB into the premier bare knuckle company in what will become the next globally recognized, billion dollar sport.”

Originating in South Florida with backyard legend Dada 5000, BYB has put together the top competition in the growing sport of bare knuckle as well as a support team consisting of some of the biggest and most respected names in combat sports, including Nelson Sweglar – Executive Producer WWF/WrestleMania; Al Bernstein – SHOWTIME Boxing; Mike Goldberg – UFC / Bellator; Paulie Malignaggi – 2x World Champion & SHOWTIME Boxing; Claudia Trejos – ESPN, DAZN; Benny Ricardo – CBS Sports; and Dave Ryan – ESPN.

MIAMI, FL – BYB Extreme Bare Knuckle Fighting Series is proud to announce tickets for its first-ever UK show, BYB 12: London Brawl are now available on

This past November, the US-based BYB and UK-based BKB announced a talent exchange and partnership that culminated in a series of high-intensity, cross-promotional bouts at each of the organizations’ past several shows. October 16 marks the first standalone show by either promotion in the other’s backyard.

Said BYB President Mike Vazquez, “The October BYB 12 show is the latest in how BYB and BKB have been working tirelessly to bring bare knuckle boxing to global, mainstream prominence. I once again can’t stress the value of our partnership, the mutual respect between our organizations, and the standards that we hold each other to in terms of how we treat our fighters and our fans. It’s because of the strength of this relationship and the vision of all involved that we are able to announce this and future shows that includes a forthcoming BKB show in Florida.”

BYB co-founder and street fighting legend Dada 5000 added, “London has never seen anything like the mighty Trigon, the smallest fighting area in combat sports. Just like the backyard, there’s nowhere to run, and we guarantee non-stop action. Like I always say, regardless of the matchups, in BYB, the real winners are the fans. I can’t be more excited about bringing our one-of-a-kind action across the pond.”
