Announcing BYB Extreme Bare Knuckle Fighting’s Colorado Debut: BYB 22 Rocky Mountain Brawl, Saturday December 2 at the Stockyard Event Center in Denver

Denver, CO – BYB Extreme Fighting Series, the modern-day originators of bare knuckle fighting in the US, announced today that it will host its Colorado debut at BYB 22 Rocky Mountain Brawl on Saturday December 2 at the Stockyard Event Center in Denver.  Along with the date and venue announcement, BYB’s Hall of Fame matchmaker Mel Valenzuela announced two headline title fights for the card. Champion Mark “The Shark” Irwin defends his BYB Lightweight title against 21-year-old phenom Julio Tanori; and champion Monica Medina and Paty Juarez will go to battle one more time to cap off their BYB Women’s Lightweight and Police Gazette World Diamond Belt trilogy, which currently stands at a win a piece.

Medina, who lost to Juarez in a controversial split decision in May 2022 before capturing the title by unanimous decision this September, is looking to lay the rivalry to bed.  Said Medina, “3 strikes and she’s out. I’m wrapping this trilogy up in spectacular fashion in her own back yard and leaving no doubt.”

Said the ever-modest Irwin, “Being the biggest star inBYB, I think it’s only fitting that I’m headlining the end of year event and I’m excited to go out there and remind everyone why I’m in this position. SHARK WEEK IS BACK on BYB Extreme Bare Knuckle for the season finale!”

On BYB’s first fight in Centennial State, BYB CEO Greg Bloom said, “I couldn’t think of a better way to cap off a historic 2023 than to give Denver fight fans a taste of what real bare knuckle fighting is all about – in the smallest ring in combat sports, with the tightest corners, and with nowhere to run.  Denver fans will experience a night of straight-up fist fights rather than the cardio clinics that have been masquerading as bare knuckle brawls in their state. There’s nothing like a BYB event.  As our founder Dada 5000 says, ‘We make the weekends.’”

Tickets go on sale shortly and more exciting fights to be announced soon.  To stay up to date, follow @bybextreme on social media or visit bybextreme.com.

Undefeated Bare Knuckle Brawlers Mark “The Shark” Irwin and Joshua “The Preacherman” Oxendine to Headline BYB 17 Brawl at Rock Hill for the BYB Lightweight Championship

Undefeated Bare Knuckle Brawlers Mark “The Shark” Irwin and Joshua “The Preacherman” Oxendine to Headline BYB 17 Brawl at Rock Hill for the BYB Lightweight Championship

BYB Extreme Bare Knuckle Fighting Series returns to the Rock Hill Sports & Event Center Saturday, May 13 for an exciting night of action

Rock Hill, SC –  After hosting the first bare knuckle fighting event in South Carolina history last December, BYB Extreme Fighting Series will return to Rock Hill on May 13 for BYB 17 Brawl at Rock Hill.

Matchmaker Mel Valenzuela announced today that Charlotte’s (by way of Pembroke, NC) Joshua “The Preacherman” Oxendine (2-0, 1 NC, 2 KO) will battle Huntington Beach, California’s Mark “The Shark” Irwin (2-0, 2 KOs) in a matchup of undefeated lightweights to crown the inaugural BYB Lightweight Champion.

Upon turning pro in 2021, Oxendine, a US Marine Corp veteran and minister working towards his BA in Christian Ministries, became the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina’s first professional fighter.  Irwin is a 2-time California State USA Boxing Champion, an undefeated gloved pro (4-0, 3 KOs), and recipient of the 2022 BYB knockout of the year.

While their backgrounds are radically different, neither lacks confidence in a fight months in the making.

Said Oxendine, “Mark will probably do everything right leading up to the fight, but there will always be that one mistake he won’t be able to live down: signing the contract to fight me.”

Irwin, coming off ACL reconstruction surgery, has long been one of the most colorful and vocal fighters in combat sports, “The long awaited and much anticipated return of bare knuckle’s most exciting fighter is here. I’m the baddest man on the planet, and on May 13th I’m going to go into enemy territory to prove it in violent and dramatic fashion. Shark week is back.”

BYB 17 Brawl at Rock Hill will take place May 13 at the Rock Hill Sports & Event Center in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Tickets are available now at bybtickets.com. Follow @bybextreme on social for more information.

BYB Announces Signing of Toby”2 Quick” Misech to Multi-Fight Deal

BYB Announces Signing of Toby “2 Quick” Misech to Multi-Fight Deal

Former UFC and Bellator featherweight returns to the mighty Trigon at November 19th’s BYB 13 Tampa Brawl for it All

Miami, FL – Fresh off its UK debut, matchmaker Mel Valenzuela announced today the signing of Toby Misech to a multi-fight deal with BYB Extreme. Misech made an impressive bare knuckle debut at this past March at BYB 9, losing by fourth-round knockout to current BYB welterweight champion Seth Shaffer. Misech will return to the patented mighty Trigon on November 19th at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa against Julio Tanori, and is already eyeing a grudge-match against Shaffer.

Said Misech, “It feels great to get signed by BYB. It gives me a new drive. My last BYB fight, I was doing a mixture of boxing and MMA. Now, my focus is on point and locked in – I’m strictly focused on bare knuckle for this upcoming fight.”

He added, “I’ve won titles in MMA and now it’s time to win a bare knuckle title. You best believe I’m coming for a rematch [with Shaffer].”

“He has to earn it first,” responded Shaffer.

Misech is the latest in a strong group of fighters signed by BYB. Earlier this year, BYB announced that it signed BYB Heavyweight Champion Tony Lopez, Lorawnt-T “Smash” Nelson, Monica Medina, Miranda Barber, Chad Kelly, Mark “The Shark” Irwin, Sonya Dreiling, Mumia Abu Dey Ali, Cubb Hawkins, and Jamie Driver to multi-fight deals.

Said Valenzuela, “I’m excited to have Toby join our already-talented roster of fighters.  His pedigree stacks up against anyone in the sport. As a matchmaker, our signings, a combination of established talent and homegrown stars, has given me the ability to continue to put together the best match-ups in bare knuckle.  I challenge you to find better fights anywhere.”

BYB 13’s lineup features a trio of title matches. BYB’s Desmond Green will take on BKB’s Scott McHugh for both the BYB Middleweight title and the Police Gazette World Diamond Belt.  BYB Champion Paty Juarez and Tampa’s Monica Medina will face off in a rematch for the BYB Women’s Lightweight Title and Police Gazette women’s 135 Diamond Belt. Tony Lopez, undefeated in the Trigon, makes his first heavyweight title defense as he takes on challenger DJ Linderman

BYB Extreme Bare Knuckle Fighting Series Announces Addition of Jewlz Grey to Help Oversee Growing Women’s Roster

For Immediate Release: March 31, 2022

BYB Extreme Bare Knuckle Fighting Series Announces Addition of Jewlz Grey to Help Oversee Growing Women’s Roster

Grey joins Director of Competition/Matchmaker Mel Valenzuela and is expected to take a prominent role in BYB leadership and growth.

MIAMI, FL – Since its inception, BYB Extreme has sought to showcase fighters from all walks of life and specifically put talented female fighters in high-profile fights and positions to shine. In 2021, BYB crowned its first ever champion in any division, male or female, when Paty Juarez won the 135 pound title over Christine “Knuckles” Stanley in a slugfest in Miami.  BYB kicked off 2022 with combat sports trailblazer Erin Toughill going the distance in a co-main event against national golden gloves champion Sonya Dreiling.  This May, as BYB makes its Mississippi debut, it will feature three women’s bouts, including the night’s main event.

Today, BYB Extreme is proud to announce the addition of Jewlz Grey to the BYB Bareknuckle family.  Grey will work beside BYB Director of Competition/Matchmaker Mel Valenzuela and help oversee BYB’s growing female roster.

Grey attended college at Texas A&M University-Commerce, studied abroad in four countries, and obtained her degree in psychology with a minor in criminal justice.  Her commitment for public service is exemplary.  While at Texas A&M-Commerce, she held a seat on the global policies committee for sex trafficked women, and is currently a member of the Foster Care Alumni Committee in the State of Texas.  As someone who herself went through and eventually aged-out of the state’s foster care system, Grey is no stranger to adversity and overcoming obstacles.

Said BYB President Mike Vazquez, “Jewlz will no doubt be a contributing factor to BYB’s future growth and success, and she is a testament to our continued focus on building our organization with the most talented, committed and ethical professionals in combat sports.”
