BYB Lightweight Champion Paty Juarez to Undergo Surgery, Out Indefinitely from Competition

Monica “Phenomamom” Medina will now face Jessica Link at BYB 13 Tampa Brawl for it All.

Miami, FL – BYB Extreme announced today that BYB Lightweight Champion Paty Jarez will require surgery and will be out of action indefinitely. Juarez was scheduled to defend her BYB title and the Police Gazette Diamond Belt in a rematch against Monica Medina at BYB 13 Tampa Brawl for it All on November 19.  The two had faced off this past August in Biloxi with Juarez emerging with a 7-round split decision.

Instead, matchmaker Mel Valenzuela has announced that Medina will face Jessica Link at BYB 13.

Said Medina, “While I was looking forward to the rematch against Paty, I want to beat her at her best.  I wish her a speedy recovery.  I commend Jessica for taking the match on late notice, but she’s not going to stand in the way of my ultimate goal, which is winning gold and proving myself the woman to beat in BYB.”

BYB 13 will feature a pair of high profile title matches. BYB’s Desmond Green will take on BKB’s Scott McHugh for both the BYB Middleweight title and the Police Gazette World Diamond Belt. Tony Lopez, undefeated in the Trigon, makes his first heavyweight title defense as he takes on challenger DJ Linderman

Bare Knuckle Fighting Pioneer Dada 5000 Makes Return to the Trigon

Bare Knuckle Fighting Pioneer Dada 5000 Makes Return to the Trigon

Dhafir “Dada 5000” Harris will face off in a special attraction match on November 19 at BYB 13 Tampa Brawl for it All at the Florida State Fairgrounds.

Miami, FL – BYB Extreme announced today that company co-founder and bare knuckle fighting pioneer Dhafir “Dada 5000” Harris will make a return to the ring in the patented mighty Trigon on November 19, 2022 at BYB 13 Tampa Brawl for it All at the Florida State Fairgrounds.

Harris has done and seen it all in the fight world. His organized backyard events at the world-famous Greenhouse in West Perrine attracted notoriety throughout South Florida before going viral online and making him a household name. That success, along with his business savvy and creative vision, lead to, among other things, his co-founding BYB Extreme Fighting Series, being the subject of the blockbuster Netflix documentary Dawg Fight, and headlining Bellator 149 in what would be the promotion’s most watched event.

The November 19 heavyweight bare knuckle matchup against Matt Strickland, marks Harris’ first in-ring action since 2016.

On his return:

“I have a lot left inside of me and can be a breath of fresh air to what has become a very stale fight game. I’m one of the last of that original breed of modern mixed martial artists.  I’m recognizable and people identify with what they are familiar with. I want to do this for the fans as much as for myself.”

On being in the best shape of his life:

“I work out 2-3 hours a day in the gym, can bench press 225 pounds 30 times with ease, and I can go out and run a 4.4/4.5 40-yard dash. More importantly, my body hasn’t taken the bumps alot of fighters my size and age have. I have low miles and with little damage.”

On his debut in the Trigon:

“I am a smart fighter.  I make a game plan and then I go out and execute it.  The Trigon plays right into my style.  I can cut the ring off and use it to my benefit.  The fight is easy.  We start close and when I come out with my power, there’s nowhere to go.”

BYB 13’s lineup features a trio of title matches. BYB’s Desmond Green will take on BKB’s Scott McHugh for both the BYB Middleweight title and the Police Gazette World Diamond Belt.  BYB Champion Paty Juarez and Tampa’s Monica Medina will face off in a rematch for the BYB Women’s Lightweight Title and Police Gazette women’s 135 Diamond Belt. Tony Lopez, undefeated in the Trigon, makes his first heavyweight title defense as he takes on challenger DJ Linderman.

BYB Extreme Bare Knuckle Fighting Series Announces Addition of Jewlz Grey to Help Oversee Growing Women’s Roster

For Immediate Release: March 31, 2022

BYB Extreme Bare Knuckle Fighting Series Announces Addition of Jewlz Grey to Help Oversee Growing Women’s Roster

Grey joins Director of Competition/Matchmaker Mel Valenzuela and is expected to take a prominent role in BYB leadership and growth.

MIAMI, FL – Since its inception, BYB Extreme has sought to showcase fighters from all walks of life and specifically put talented female fighters in high-profile fights and positions to shine. In 2021, BYB crowned its first ever champion in any division, male or female, when Paty Juarez won the 135 pound title over Christine “Knuckles” Stanley in a slugfest in Miami.  BYB kicked off 2022 with combat sports trailblazer Erin Toughill going the distance in a co-main event against national golden gloves champion Sonya Dreiling.  This May, as BYB makes its Mississippi debut, it will feature three women’s bouts, including the night’s main event.

Today, BYB Extreme is proud to announce the addition of Jewlz Grey to the BYB Bareknuckle family.  Grey will work beside BYB Director of Competition/Matchmaker Mel Valenzuela and help oversee BYB’s growing female roster.

Grey attended college at Texas A&M University-Commerce, studied abroad in four countries, and obtained her degree in psychology with a minor in criminal justice.  Her commitment for public service is exemplary.  While at Texas A&M-Commerce, she held a seat on the global policies committee for sex trafficked women, and is currently a member of the Foster Care Alumni Committee in the State of Texas.  As someone who herself went through and eventually aged-out of the state’s foster care system, Grey is no stranger to adversity and overcoming obstacles.

Said BYB President Mike Vazquez, “Jewlz will no doubt be a contributing factor to BYB’s future growth and success, and she is a testament to our continued focus on building our organization with the most talented, committed and ethical professionals in combat sports.”
