Bare Knuckle Fighting Pioneer Dada 5000 Makes Return to the Trigon
Dhafir “Dada 5000” Harris will face off in a special attraction match on November 19 at BYB 13 Tampa Brawl for it All at the Florida State Fairgrounds.
Miami, FL - BYB Extreme announced today that company co-founder and bare knuckle fighting pioneer Dhafir “Dada 5000” Harris will make a return to the ring in the patented mighty Trigon on November 19, 2022 at BYB 13 Tampa Brawl for it All at the Florida State Fairgrounds.
Harris has done and seen it all in the fight world. His organized backyard events at the world-famous Greenhouse in West Perrine attracted notoriety throughout South Florida before going viral online and making him a household name. That success, along with his business savvy and creative vision, lead to, among other things, his co-founding BYB Extreme Fighting Series, being the subject of the blockbuster Netflix documentary Dawg Fight, and headlining Bellator 149 in what would be the promotion’s most watched event.
The November 19 heavyweight bare knuckle matchup against Matt Strickland, marks Harris’ first in-ring action since 2016.
On his return:
“I have a lot left inside of me and can be a breath of fresh air to what has become a very stale fight game. I’m one of the last of that original breed of modern mixed martial artists. I’m recognizable and people identify with what they are familiar with. I want to do this for the fans as much as for myself.”
On being in the best shape of his life:
“I work out 2-3 hours a day in the gym, can bench press 225 pounds 30 times with ease, and I can go out and run a 4.4/4.5 40-yard dash. More importantly, my body hasn’t taken the bumps alot of fighters my size and age have. I have low miles and with little damage.”
On his debut in the Trigon:
“I am a smart fighter. I make a game plan and then I go out and execute it. The Trigon plays right into my style. I can cut the ring off and use it to my benefit. The fight is easy. We start close and when I come out with my power, there's nowhere to go.”
BYB 13’s lineup features a trio of title matches. BYB’s Desmond Green will take on BKB’s Scott McHugh for both the BYB Middleweight title and the Police Gazette World Diamond Belt. BYB Champion Paty Juarez and Tampa’s Monica Medina will face off in a rematch for the BYB Women’s Lightweight Title and Police Gazette women’s 135 Diamond Belt. Tony Lopez, undefeated in the Trigon, makes his first heavyweight title defense as he takes on challenger DJ Linderman.
