MIAMI,FLORIDA – Today, BYB Extreme Fighting Series, the modern-day originators of bare knuckle fighting in the US and largest bare knuckle fighting organization in the world, celebrates its 10-year anniversary. Originating in South Florida with combat sports legend Dada 5000 whose backyard fights were profiled in the 2015, Billy Corben Netflix documentary, “Dawg Fight,” BYB has taken bare knuckle fighting to the masses over the past 10 years and set the standard for modern combat sports growth and innovation. BYB now boasts a roster of over two hundred professional fighters around the world, the largest library of fights, and has the largest broadcast distribution globally.
Said BYB President and Co-Founder, MikeVazquez, “After meeting with Dada and witnessing the community and excitement that emanated from the fights in the backyard, we founded BYB to harness the raw energy of bare knuckle fighting into a more structured product for a wider, more mainstream audience. As boxing has faded and fans became bored by the MMA ground game, there was a void in what combat sports fans really wanted, which is non-stop action and knockouts, and we’ve certainly filled that void.”
“From the very beginning, we have structuredBYB Extreme in a strategic way that focused on long-term sustainability. To that end, unlike our competitors in the space, we built a foundation that includes one hundred percent ownership of ourIP, and we are just the second combat sports company (along with the UFC) to hold a patent on our ring. The three-sided Mighty Trigon is the smallest fighting surface in combat sports and has the tightest corners. The result? Non-stop action and a 90% KO/finish rate.”
This foundation has enabled BYB to purchase significant assets in the space, which has been highlighted this year by the acquisition of BKB, the oldest modern professional bare knuckle company in the world, and obtaining the rights to the historic Police Gazette World DiamondBelt, the belt from which all others in combat sports originated.
Said Co-Founder Dada 5000, “While it seemed far-fetched to some at the time, there was never a doubt amongst our team about the potential to reach a global audience. Through innovation, competent leadership, creative vision, and certainly the passion of fighters and fans throughout the world, I can say as confidently today as I did ten years ago that BYB will continue to pave the way for and usher in the future of combat sports.”
Said BYB CEO Greg Bloom, “Now more than ever, BYB is a global entertainment property that reaches millions of fans around the world on a monthly basis. Through expanded distribution that includes being the first live bare knuckle property broadcast on linear television, efforts to legalize bare knuckle fighting in new states and regions, and the legalization of gambling on the sport, BYB is just scratching the surface of what’s to come. We have the best product, fight-to-fight, card-to-card of any fight league on the market, and we continue to move the ball forward.”
BYB’s next show is October 12 when it makes its debut in Leeds, England, followed by another UK show in WolverhamptonNovember 9, before returning home to South Florida December 6. BYB is broadcast live globally on bkbworld.tv and in North America on Fuse TV, The Fight Network and BeIN Sports, as well as through direct channel partnerships in over 20 additional countries throughout the world. BYB broadcast talent includes some of the most recognized faces in the combat sports space, namely Mike Goldberg (UFC, Bellator), Paulie Malignaggi (Former 2-DivisionBoxing Champ, Showtime Boxing), ClaudiaTrejos (DAZN), Benny Ricardo (NFLon CBS), as well as one of the youngest and most talented ring announcers, Kody "Big Mo" Mommaerts (BOXXER, Sky Sports) and former WWE DivaDanielle Moinet (Summer Rae).
