Miami, FL – BYB Extreme BareKnuckle CEO Gregory Bloom, a week after announcing the company’s acquisition ofLondon-based BKB, the world’s first modern-day, bare knuckle boxing promotion, announced today the signing of Wales middleweight Jack “The Hammer” Marshman to a multi-fight contract. The announcement marks the first major signing since the acquisition, and a pivotal move in the company’s global expansion.
Marshman, a career 23-10 MMA fighter who last fought Sean Strickland to a UD loss in theUFC, is expected to make his bare knuckle debut later this summer when BYB hosts its first card in the UK since last week’s BYB/BKB merger.
Said Bloom,“With the acquisition of BKB, BYB became not only the largest bare knuckle fighting organization in the world based on reach, roster and library, but it gave us an immediate foothold in the UK and allowed us to insert some ofEurope’s best fighters onto shows without growing pains or having to sacrifice the quality of matches that fans have come to expect with BYB.”
Said BYB’s European Director of Operations and former BKB co-founder Jim Freeman, “It’s business as usual. I’m ecstatic about the opportunity to work with Greg and the team to continue to grow BYB and the sport of bare knuckle across the globe, and the addition of Marshman is just a small sign of things to come. We are only getting bigger, badder and better.”
BYB’s next event, BYB 27 “Brawl in Duval” is scheduled for June 14 in Jacksonville,Florida. At that time, BYB will announce its plans for the remainder of the calendar year both in the US andEurope.
